My name is Melicy.

My Day

I wake up at 5:30 am, clean dishes, mop the house, bathe, eat my breakfast and go to school. After school, I go home, eat my lunch, clean the dishes, study and go to bed around 8 pm. I sleep on a bed.

My Community

I live in a village that has one hospital and a Police station. Most of the houses are grass-thatched with a mud floor. My house has an iron sheet roof with a cement floor and brick wall, and our market is a 20 minutes’ walk. It has many kinds of goods such as vegetables, soy, and sweet potatoes. Most people grow corn, and it is our staple food. In my village, many boys and girls drop out of school because of lack of basic needs like food. Girls get married early while boys work on farms. I live with my Mum, and 2 Sisters.
