Age: 25

My name is Chikumbutso. When I grow up, I want to become a Lawyer because I want to help those who cannot afford to hire a lawyer to defend them in court.

My Day

I wake up in the morning, pray and prepare for school. I help my grandparents with some chores then go to school. After school, I help with whatever they need me to do at home and sometimes I go to the garden. At night, I study with friends and pray before I go to bed.

My Community

I live in a village that is 20 kilometers away from our school. Our village has over 60 households and many people depend on farming for their livelihood. My village is close to one of the big rivers and a mountain. There is no electricity or tap water in our village. Most houses are grass thatched and they leak when it rains. I live with my Grandparents.
