My name is Veronica.

My Day

I wake up at 5:30 am, draw water, sweep around my house, clean dishes, bathe and go to school. After school, I go to Rise Malawi. When I get home, I draw water and make dinner. I go to bed at around 8:00 pm. I sleep on a mat.

My Community

I live in a village that has no hospital. Most of the houses are grass-thatched with a mud floor. My house has a grass roof with a mud floor and wooden windows. Our market is a 30 minute walk from my house. It has many kinds of goods such as sweet potatoes, fish and clothes. Most people grow corn which is our staple food. In my village, many boys and girls drop out of school because of lack of school supplies, school uniform, and other things. Girls get married early and become teen mothers. I live with my Mum, Dad, 1 Brother and 4 Sisters.
