My name is Mayankho.

My Day

I wake up at 5:30 am, sweep around my house, draw water, bathe and go to school. After school, I go to Rise Malawi. When I get home, I clean dishes, and play soccer. I go to bed at around 8:00 pm. I sleep on a mat.

My Community

I live in a village that has one market. Most of the houses are grass-thatched with a mud floor. My house has an iron sheet roof with cement floor and glass windows. Our market is a 20 minute walk away from my house. It has many kinds of goods such as bubble gum, candies, cassava, and sweet potatoes. Most people grow corn which is our staple food. In my village, many boys and girls drop out of school anytime because of lack of school supplies and food. Most boys and girls become parents at a very young age. I live with my Mum, Dad, 5 Brothers and 1 Sister.
