My name is Ireen.

My Day

I wake up at 4:00 am, sweep around my house, draw water, bath and go to school. After school, I go to Rise Malawi. When I get home, I clean the dishes, and play soccer. I go to bed around 8:00 pm. I sleep on a mat.

My Community

I live in a village that has no hospital. Most of the houses are grass-thatched with a mud floor. My house has an iron sheet roof with cement floor and glass windows. Our market is a 30 minute walk from my house. It has many kinds of goods such as flour, vegetables, fish and bananas. Most people grow corn which is our staple food. In my village, many boys and girls drop out of school anytime because of lack of school supplies, school uniform, and other things. I live with my Mum, Dad, 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.
