My Day

I wake up at 5:00 am, wash dishes, mop my house, bathe and go to school at 6:00 am. After school, I draw water, cook, and study. I go to bed around 11 pm. I sleep on a mat. I live with my grandmother because she is very old. I help her with house chores.

My Community

I live in a village where most of the houses have grass thatched roofs and mud floors. Our house has a roof with iron sheets and wooden windows. It has walls with burnt bricks. Our market is a 2 hour walk from my house. It has food like sweet potatoes, clothes and many kinds of goods. Most people grow corn which is our staple food. Many girls in my village get married in their teens or are made to overwork. Some are physically abused. I live with my Grandmother, 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.
