My Day

I wake up at 4:00 am, sweep around my house, clean the dishes, and bathe. When I get home after school, I draw water, clean dishes, and make dinner for my family. I then go to bed around 8 pm. I sleep on a mat.

My Community

I live in a village that has no hospital and most of the houses are grass-thatched with a mud floor. Our market is a 1 hour walk from my house. It has many kinds of goods such as flour, vegetables, and food like sweet potatoes. Most people grow corn which is our staple food. In my village, many boys and girls drop out of school because there is no high school. They become teen mothers and wives. I live with my Dad, Mum, 5 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
