My name is Praise.

My Day

I wake up at 5:30 am, sweep around my house, mop the house, bathe and go to school. After school, I go to Rise Malawi. When I get home, draw water and clean dishes, and go to bed around 8:00pm. I sleep on a mat.

My Community

I live in a village that has one market, and most of the houses are grass-thatched with mud floor. My house has iron sheet roof with cement floor and glass windows. Our market is a 20 minute walk from my house. It has many kinds of goods such as bananas, salt, shoes, beans and vegetables. Most people grow corn which is our staple food. In my village, many boys and girls drop out of school anytime because of lack of basic needs like school supplies, food and school uniform. As such, boys and girls get married as teens. I live with my Mum, Dad, 5 Brothers and 1 Sister.
